Tell us a little about yourselves and Mortgage Smart, how the company was born and how you came up with the idea of your own mortgage advising firm?
We started Mortgage Smart to offer a more personal service to clients. We’re all parents, run homes, have moved several times and so we get it. At Mortgage Smart we’ll look after you throughout the whole home buying process so you can carry on with every day life. All our advice is specific to a persons situation – a truly tailored service.
What kind of services do you offer?
We offer straight talking, plain English Mortgage advice and we also arrange all the mortgage associated insurances you’re going to need too – such as home insurance, death & cancer cover and also income replacement cover (your own personal furlough).
What makes you different from the competition? (Why should someone go to you?)
A truly personal service. And – Because we are home owners, parents and run busy homes – we get it. We’re specialists with years of experience in many different markets. We’ll help you every step of the way whether it’s finding your first home, moving, remortgaging or buying a rental property.
How has the Brackley community received your business?
We already have a long history in Brackley, Nigel has traded her for a number of years there and I grew up and went to school in Brackley. We have good connections with local solicitor firms and estate agents. Selina will be representing Mortgage Smart in Abingdon and also has the same local connections there.
If someone wanted to sell their house, and start a new adventure - what would you suggest they should do first?
Talk to us first, we’ll go through your budget looking at all the costs of the move, how much you can borrow and make sure you can afford it. We can do Zoom or telephone calls and our office in Draymans Walk, near the Town Hall is perfectly located for drop ins when it’s safe to do so.
Do you have anything planned in the near future of Mortgage Smart? (sneak peek of what's to come, maybe a new website?)
Our website is under construction and when lockdown is over we’ll be able to share more photos. We’ve just started an Instagram page and Facebook page so we’ll start posting more mini-videos.
