Tell us a little about yourself and how Buzzy’s Girls originated?
Over the years we’d all run our own businesses, completely separate from one another, but remained greats friends (and family!). The first opportunity came about when a property along the high street, just along from the Co-Op, became available and we decided to take the plunge together. The three of us opened the business in December 2020, in between lockdowns. Back in the 80’s the property was originally a fashion shop, owned by Tracie’s auntie and named ‘Buzzy’s Girls’. So, we decided what an appropriate name for our new business.
We have since moved to our new property as we needed more space and wanted to expand our services, but the name has remained. The business has gone from strength to strength since the move. We even refitted the new salon in 5 weeks, all while working full-time, being mothers, grandmothers, and wives.
Where is your local business based? / Where does your business cover?
We now run Buzzy’s Girls out of 32 High Street, directly next to the Post Office. We like to think of ourselves as a one-stop-salon for all things hair and beauty. It seems almost every week we are expanding our range of services, and love that our clients can visit us for a whole range of complimentary services all under one roof.
What inspired you to start your business?
I think our long-standing friendship, family connection, and individual passions for what we do. We think if you put those qualities together it’s the perfect recipe for a successful business.
What is in store for the future?
A well earned holiday! All joking aside, we’d like to continue to evolve the business to offer more services for our clients. Both the hair and beauty industry never stand still and we pride ourselves on keeping up with the latest developments and treatments.

Goals for 2023?
Not forgetting that we’ve only been trading for two years, with the last five months in our new salon, there hasn’t been a week go by without expanding our range of services, or changing something within the salon. So really, the goal has to be getting some normality and continuing to ensure we give all of our clients the best service possible. We have two new experienced hairdressers that have joined the team, a registered Nurse offering a wide range of treatments, plus an amazing lash technician, all delivering first class services here at Buzzy’s Girls.
