SEN-ED Kitchen - Brackley's nurturing alternative provision

SEN-ED Kitchen is an innovative, nurturing alternative provision dedicated to supporting children and young people with special educational needs (SEN) who thrive in personalised, relationship-led environments.

We believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued, understood and empowered to reach their full potential. Every child who joins SEN-ED Kitchen is recognised as an individual, with their own strengths, interests, aspirations and way of learning. By taking time to build trusting relationships and understand what matters most to each child, we create an environment where they feel seen, heard and confident enough to thrive.

Using the kitchen and garden as therapeutic learning environments, we deliver personalised programmes that combine meaningful learning with emotional wellbeing, creativity and practical life experiences. Every session is carefully tailored to meet the individual needs of the child, helping them rediscover a love of learning in a way that feels achievable, engaging and purposeful.

At the heart of our provision is a bespoke developmental curriculum that places equal importance on academic progress, personal development and preparation for independence. Designed around each learner’s individual starting point, our curriculum develops communication, emotional regulation, resilience, confidence and the practical life skills needed for everyday living. Through real-life experiences, children are supported to prepare for their next stage of education while developing the independence, self-belief and skills to flourish beyond the classroom.

Our approach is rooted in nurture, encouragement and engagement, recognising that positive relationships are the foundation for learning and personal growth. We celebrate every achievement, however small, helping children develop confidence in themselves, build meaningful connections and discover what they are capable of.

We work in partnership with schools, local authorities, parents and carers to provide flexible, bespoke support for children who may find accessing traditional education challenging. Our services include specialist alternative provision, personalised education programmes, mentoring, ADHD coaching and support, parent and family guidance, SEND consultancy, professional training and accredited learning opportunities through the AQA Unit Award Scheme.

Led by experienced education professionals with specialist SEND expertise, SEN-ED Kitchen is committed to creating opportunities for every child to succeed – not only in education, but in life. As we continue to grow, we are working towards creating a permanent home in south Northamptonshire: a welcoming place where children can walk in, exhale, and know they truly belong.

We’re creating more than an alternative provision – we’re creating a community where every child is valued, every voice is heard, and every future is full of possibility.
