Everything you need for a picnic at Westbury Shop and Café

With summer in full swing, it’s the perfect time to get out and enjoy the great outdoors with a picnic, particularly as we are so lucky to be surrounded by some beautiful countryside to explore.

The Palladian Way passes just to our north on it’s way from The Old Gaol in Buckingham all the way to Bath, via Stowe and Brackley.

Westbury Community Shop and Café is your one stop shop for either freshly made sandwiches to take away, or locally sourced ingredients to make your sandwiches, including freshly baked bread and rolls, ham, charcuterie, and a range of excellent cheeses.

For a great alternative to sandwiches, how about packing up individual pies and quiches. These are provided by award winning, local supplier Monty Pieman, in a host of delicious flavours from asparagus, pea and mint to chorizo and Manchego. While they will elevate any picnic, they are perfect for a summer lunch at home too.

If you would prefer to have a go at making your own quiche, we love the fresh summer flavours of this Italian flavoured quiche with tomato and basil, visit the BBC Good Food guide website for the delicious recipe.

Or for a healthier option without the pastry, give this quiche Lorraine inspired frittata a go.

Our fresh, local eggs will work perfectly in both!
