Since my last feature, I have had the pleasure of attending several events which have once again shown the strength, kindness and community spirit we are so fortunate to have in Brackley.

Armed Forces Day was a particularly special occasion, with a fantastic turnout from residents. It was an honour to represent Brackley Town Council and to offer thanks to our Armed Forces, both past and present. Their service, courage and commitment deserve our gratitude not only on Armed Forces Day but throughout the year. My thanks go to everyone involved in organising and supporting such a meaningful event.

I was also delighted to attend the Annual General Meeting of 1st Grafton SEND Scout Group.
It was a real privilege to present badges to some of the Scouts and to see the pride they took in their achievements. The group provides valuable opportunities for children to build confidence, enjoy new experiences and be celebrated for who they are. Thank you to the leaders and volunteers who make it all possible.

Another highlight was being invited to judge Strictly Come Brackley. With a sold-out audience, 26 brave contestants and more than £5,000 raised for charity, it was a brilliant evening.

Each of these occasions has reminded me how much is achieved in our town by people giving their time, energy and enthusiasm for the benefit of others. It is a privilege to see this first-hand as Mayor and I look forward to supporting many more community events in the weeks ahead.
